Sailing Yacht Translated 9
A warm welcome to this historic Swan 65 yacht, Translated 9.
Previously known as ADC Accutrac and skippered by Clare Francis, this yacht finished fifth in the 1977/78 Whitbread Round The World Race. In completing the race, Clare became the first female skipper to complete the famous race before turning her hand to writing best-selling novels.
An eventful 2023 Ocean Globe Race
Translated 9 has just completed the 2023 Ocean Globe Race, winning Leg 1 from Southampton to Cape Town last year before sustaining damage rounding Cape Horn on Leg 3 which required a stopover in the Falklands.
The team persevered and continued to race. Despite no longer being in the official race rankings and their dreams of winning overall dashed, the crew crossed the finish line on 3rd May 2024.
After having her mast unstepped by Ocean Rigging and Evans Crane Hire, Translated 9 is now ashore at Lymington Yacht Haven for refit work with Jeremy Rogers.
A big well done to our boatyard team for their skill and teamwork on this job.
