On a glorious spring afternoon, the entire Jeremy Rogers workforce assembled as their latest Contessa 32 new build took to the water for the first time.
Since 1971, the Contessa 32 has widely become recognised as one of the most popular racer cruisers ever. With elegant lines and outstanding detailing, Contessa 32s have travelled the world over - on epic solo voyages, reaching far-flung destinations and being victorious in offshore races. Despite that, you'll still find many Contessa yachts staying close to their home in Lymington, cruising in he Solent and British Isles.
The latest Contessa 32 out of the Jeremy Rogers workshop was ceremonially christened 'Freya' before she hit the water. In true boating fashion, Freya was named by pouring Champagne on her bow before the Jeremy Rogers team raised a glass to their latest new build.
Sailing Yacht Freya is destined for Norway once her final touches are made including some modern tweaks on the classic design, as specified by her owner. They include a carbon mast and boom, as well as a four-bladed Featherstream prop, windlass with stainless Manson anchor and chain for the deepest of Norwegian fjords.
Congratulations to Kit and Jessie Rogers, and the entire Jeremy Rogers team for this stunning new build. And further congratulations to the owner of Freya - we wish you fair winds and wonderful adventures onboard. She truly is a stunning yacht!
