Burnham week is arguably the longest running annual yacht regatta on the mainland of the UK. It is organised by the Joint Clubs Committee, comprising representatives from the four clubs in Burnham together with other members who have a specific responsibility during the week.
The East Coast's most challenging and friendly regatta!
Burnham week is steeped in history with the first regatta taking place in 1893. Since then the regatta has grown in strength and is now an eagerly awaited date in the sailing diary. Historically it marked the closure of the racing season as the event has always taken place at the end of August.
Fleet catagories include: MultiHull, IRC Class one, IRC Class two, IRC Class three, IRC Class five, IRC Class six, RS Elite, Dragon, 707, Sonata, Squib, ECOD, RCOD, RBOD, Sandhopper, Osprey, Phantom and Dinghy handicap.
The Joint Clubs Committee includes the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, the Burnham Yacht Club (which became the Royal Burnham Yacht Club), the Crouch Yacht Club and Burnham Sailing Club.
