In 2022, we partnered with Green Recycling and made the joint commitment to ensure none of the waste generated at Fambridge Yacht Haven went to landfill.

We are delighted to share the insights about how this scheme has achieved this undertaking in 2024 to date:

  • 66,505kg of waste collected from our site
  • 77% of this waste has been recycled
  • 23% of residual waste converted into energy
  • 0% of waste to landfill!

Waste and Recycling

As a reminder to our customers, all site-produced waste can be placed into the Green Recycling skips found on-site at the Marina and in the Yacht Station.

Waste for these skips can include food, paper, cardboard, glass, metal, wood and plastics.

Separate bins are provided for waste oil and batteries.

Please remember, these waste facilities are for the exclusive use of site-produced waste by berth holders and mooring holders. They are NOT for general public use.

Our environmental commitments

This 'zero waste to landfill' pledge is part of many other cleaner choices to protect our marina environment and reduce our impact.

This includes the investment and installation in 2023 of two state-of-the-art environmental washdown centres to collect run-off when boats are lifted ashore.

This system ensures oils, paint fragments and other materials are prevented from re-entering the river, as well as collects and filtering the water used when washing boats, effectively recycling it, thus reducing water wastage.
