The Cattewater Cruising Club is a small friendly cruising club that overlooks Plymouth Yacht Haven from their HQ at the Boringdon Arms in Turnchapel village. It was formed in 1989 and is an RYA affiliated club.
The aim of the club is to promote and encourage cruising and to provide social events for our members who come from far and wide but mainly have boats based in Plymouth.
Although motor boat cruising is catered for, the majority of members own sailing yachts in the 25-40ft range and the cruising programme is based on this rate of progress. The extensive cruising programme, which is planned around cruising in company, is published on the club website and is advertised on the noticeboard at Plymouth Yacht Haven, with whom we work in partnership on The Active Marina Programme.
The membership fees currently stand at £20 per annum per member due by the 31st of March each year, with a £15 joining fee per boat for which the new member(s) will receive a club burgee in return.
Members are regularly notified of our forthcoming social events which include: monthly socials, a laying up supper, a prizegiving party, and winter walks.
