Site Maintenance Operative
Blagdons Storage is looking for a hands-on Site Maintenance Operative to join our team at a busy 5.5-acre waterfront storage facility in Plymouth. With over 250 customers using a range of business and storage solutions on-site, from flexible start-up units and container hire to open yard storage and secure compounds, this is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, varied tasks and takes pride in maintaining facilities to a high standard.

- 32-40 hours, negotiable.
If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and tackling a range of tasks and working outdoors this could be the role for you. We also provide plenty of opportunities to expand your skills, including forklift operation and using our in-house computer system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake manual labour tasks, including site maintenance and repair work.
- Perform practical jobs, such as painting, general DIY, and cleaning.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including tidying and cutting back overgrown vegetation.
- Clear and maintain on-site drainage systems as required.
- Manage waste disposal and burning safely using the on-site incinerator.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools effectively and safely.
- Assist tradespeople with repairs and maintenance projects.
- Interact with customers, providing a good service that reflects our company standards.
- Process card payments using our card machine.
- Learn and use our in-house operating system, BerthR (training provided).
Applicants Must:
- Be a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Be practical, confident and experienced in DIY and maintenance tasks.
- Have experience of using hand and power tools effectively and safely.
- Be physically fit to meet the demands of the role.
- Be knowledgeable and aware of Health & Safety practices.
- Demonstrate good communication skills and a friendly manner when engaging with customers and colleagues.
- Be open to learning new skills, such as forklift driving and computer use.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (preferable, but not essential).
